01Who we are and what this covers
In short: This policy covers how we handle personal information: on this website and our sign-up pages, when we research and ring businesses, when you're a client, and for our sales reps.
1.1"We", "us" and "our" means Quest Connect (QuestConnect), the registered business name of the partnership of E.C. Nemeth and J.V. Webb (Ethan Nemeth and Jay Webb), ABN 19 473 660 144, based in Byford, Western Australia.
1.2We may be small enough to be exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we handle personal information as if it fully applies to us, including the Australian Privacy Principles.
1.3Personal information means information about a person who can be identified, such as a name, phone number or email address. Most of what we deal with is about businesses, but sole traders and the people who run businesses are people, so we treat their details as personal information.
1.4If you're a client, this policy is part of your agreement with us, alongside our client agreement and its Terms of Service.
02What we collect
In short: Very little from website visitors. Public business details and call notes for the businesses we ring. What you choose to send us from our sign-up pages. What we need to run the ads for our clients.
2.1Website visitors. This website has no advertising cookies. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed, where visitors came from and which buttons are tapped (section 10). The services that deliver the site and its map see your IP address and basic details about your browser. What you type into the quiz or the suburb checker stays in your browser and isn't sent to us or to Google. Our sign-up pages take typed details, and send them only when you choose to (2.5). Our sales reps' portal sends us the notes reps type about their calls (2.4).
2.2People who contact us. If you ring, text or email us, we keep your name, number or email address, and what you tell us about your business.
2.3Businesses we research and ring. Before we ring a business, we look up public information about it: its name, ABN, published phone number and email address, website, Google reviews, the area it covers, and how it shows up on Google, including any ads it runs. We get this from public sources, such as the business's own website, Google and the Australian Business Register. If we speak with you, we note what was said, such as whether you're interested and when to ring back.
2.4Notes from our sales reps' calls. Our sales reps log each call in their rep portal: the business, its number, suburb and state, what happened (for example "call back" or "asked not to be called"), the time, any call-back or booked call with the first name and best number of the person to ring, and the rep's note. The portal saves this in the rep's own browser, and after each call it also sends a copy to Twilio (in the United States), which keeps it for up to 48 hours until it's sent to us. When the rep presses "Send info" or signs out, and at 6pm Perth time each day for anything not yet sent, our email sending service (Zoho's ZeptoMail, in its Australian data centre) emails it to Jay and Ethan at QuestConnect. If that service can't be reached, the rep can email it to us themselves instead. We use it to follow up, to pay the rep's commission and to keep our do-not-contact list.
2.5Signing up on our website. Our sign-up pages (questconnect.com.au/start/) ask for your name, role, email address and mobile number; your business's legal name, trading name, ABN and website; your trade, services, the area you cover, your opening hours and what a typical job is worth; your monthly ad budget; your Google Ads customer ID and what your website runs on; facts for your ads, such as your prices, your licence and anything you never want your ads to say; and, after you sign, your business address, what happens to calls you can't take, your Google Business Profile and your answers to our four separate consents. If a sales rep sent you the link, it carries their rep code. What you type stays in your own browser until you choose to send it, and we receive nothing before that. The one exception is your ABN. Once you've typed a whole one on “Your business”, our Twilio program (in the United States) looks it up on the Australian Government's ABN Lookup, and the page fills in what that public register says about it. Nothing from the lookup is sent to us. On the last step after you sign, pressing "Finish: send to QuestConnect" sends your answers from every step through our Twilio program (in the United States) to our email sending service (Zoho's ZeptoMail, in its Australian data centre), which delivers them to us at clients@QuestConnect.com.au and emails you a copy. On the last step, pressing "Open my email app" instead has your own email app send them to us. You can also copy them into an email, or download them as a file and send that. We use it to set up and run your ads, and to pay the sales rep who introduced you. You can clear your answers from your browser at any time, with the button on the page.
2.6Signing on our payment page. You sign on our sign-up pages, then pay in Stripe's secure form, on our sign-up page. Our sign-up pages pass your business's legal name, ABN, your role, your typed full name, your email address, mobile number, monthly ad budget and any sales rep's code to Stripe, through our Twilio program. Stripe collects your bank or card details, which we never see. You give us your business address during onboarding, after you sign. We keep a record, partly held by Stripe, of what you typed and ticked, when you signed, your internet address and browser, and which dated version of our client agreement you agreed to.
2.7Clients. When you're a client, we also hold:
- your contact and business details, and your signed Agreement Summary;
- your Google Ads account data, such as campaigns, keywords, ads, costs, clicks, impressions and conversions;
- which enquiries became paid work, and roughly what they were worth;
- the reports we send you, and records of our calls, messages and emails; and
- your login to our client dashboard.
Your card or bank details are held by Stripe, not by us.
2.8Your customers. To tell Google which enquiries became paying customers, we only use the bare minimum needed to match them up. We don't need your customers' names, phone numbers or email addresses for this. If you share any customer details with us anyway, we only use them for your ads.
2.9Signing in with Google. If you sign in to your QuestConnect account with Google, Google gives us only your name, your email address and Google's ID number for you. We use them only to sign you in, and keep them with your account. We never get access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Ads or anything else in your Google account, and we keep no Google sign-in token once you're signed in.
2.10Our sales reps. We hold each sales rep's name, business name, ABN, contact details and bank details, to run their agreement and pay them. Their calls for us go through our phone app, run by Jet Interactive, which keeps the call records for their QuestConnect number (section 5). Their rep portal keeps their name, sign-in code and a copy of the rep agreement they accepted, with the time they accepted it, in their own browser.
2.11We don't collect sensitive information, such as health information, and we don't knowingly collect information about children.
03How we use it
In short: To do the job, get paid, keep in touch and follow the law. Nothing else.
3.1We use personal information to:
- work out which businesses might benefit from our services, and contact them;
- check that our sales calls follow the law and our rules, using our sales reps' call logs, and by asking the businesses who sign up through a sales rep what they were told;
- answer your questions and give you figures for your trade;
- set up and run your ads, and do your audit;
- send your reports and keep in touch about your account;
- take payments, pay our sales reps' commission, and keep financial records;
- improve our own research and software, using results with names and anything identifying taken out; and
- meet our legal obligations.
3.2We don't sell personal information, rent it out, or use it for anyone else's marketing.
04Calls, texts and emails
In short: We mostly ring businesses, and our sales calls aren't recorded. Tell us you'd rather not hear from us, and we'll stop.
4.1Most of our contact with new businesses is by phone, from Jay, Ethan or our sales reps. If you tell us you don't want us to ring again, we won't, and you go on our do-not-contact list so nobody rings you for us again.
4.2Our phone app. Calls our sales reps make or answer for us, and calls Jay or Ethan make from our phone app, go through our phone provider, Jet Interactive (section 5). We don't record our sales calls. If you sign up after a call from one of our sales reps, we may ask you what they told you, to check our calls follow our rules and the law.
4.3Our emails don't track whether you open them or click their links. If you ask one of our sales reps on a call for our sign-up link or our website, or book a call with us through them, and they email it to you from their rep portal, your name, your email address and, for a booked call, its time and the number we'll ring, pass from the rep's page through Twilio (in the United States) to our email sending service (Zoho's ZeptoMail, in its Australian data centre), and a copy of the email is kept in our inbox as our record. It's one email, which can combine the sign-up link, our website and a booked call.
4.4If we email businesses about our services, we only use an address the business has published itself, or an address it gives one of our sales reps on a call when it asks us to email it our sign-up link or our website, or the details of a call it books with us. That's one email, with what it asked for. We keep a copy as our record, and we don't put the address on any marketing list. Every email says who it's from and has a working way to unsubscribe, which we honour within five business days, as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) requires. If you reply "stop", we add you to our do-not-contact list, so you won't hear from us again.
05Who we share it with
In short: Google, because that's where your ads run, and a short list of services we use to run the business. Nobody who would use it for their own purposes.
5.1We only share personal information with these services, and only what each one needs to do its job for us:
- Google Ads, where client campaigns run and their data is held; Google's research tools; Google Analytics, which counts visits to this website; and the small website logos shown in our sales reps' portal.United States and elsewhere
- Anthropic (Claude)
- AI that reads public web pages when we set up a client, and drafts ad text that we approve. Names and contact details are taken out first, and it can't train its models on what we send.United States
- Stripe
- Card and direct debit payments, through Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd.Australia and United States
- Jet Interactive (Cloud Mobile)
- Our phone provider: our QuestConnect phone numbers and phone app, and their call records.Australia
- Binary Lane
- Our server, where client information is kept.Perth, Australia
- Cloudflare
- Running our domain name system (DNS), which points people to our website and email.Worldwide network
- Bunny.net

- Zoho
- Email and business software, including the emails our sign-up pages and our sales reps' portal send us. Its ZeptoMail service, in its Australian data centre, sends the emails from our sales reps' portal, and from the last step after you sign up: your answers to us, and the copy of them we email you.Australia or overseas
- Twilio
- Passing the name and email address a sales rep types (and, for a booked call, its time and the number we'll ring), when a business asks for our sign-up link or our website or books a call, from the rep's page to our email sending service; keeping our sales reps' call notes for up to 48 hours, until they're emailed to us; looking up the ABN you type on our sign-up pages on the Australian Government's ABN Lookup; passing your sign-up details from our sign-up pages to Stripe; and passing your answers from the last step after you sign to our email sending service.United States

5.2We may also share information where the law requires it, or where you've given us your OK.
5.3If you're a client, we won't share your Google Ads account data with anyone else without your OK in writing (clause 13.2 of our client agreement).
06Information overseas
In short: Some of these services store or handle information outside Australia, mainly in the United States.
6.1Google, Anthropic, Stripe, Cloudflare, Bunny.net, Twilio, Zoho and OpenFreeMap may store or handle information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. The client information we keep ourselves is on our server in Perth.
6.2We take reasonable steps to make sure these services handle information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, mainly by choosing established providers with their own published privacy and security commitments, and by only sending them what's needed.
07AI and automated decisions
In short: AI does two jobs only: it reads public web pages when we set up a client, and it drafts ad text that we approve. It never changes ads, sets budgets or works out numbers. Decisions about people are made by a person on our team, not by software.
7.1We use AI, Anthropic's Claude, for two jobs only. Anthropic is a company in the United States. When we set up a client, it reads the client's public website pages to suggest facts about their business, and the client confirms each fact before we use it. And it drafts ad text, which we approve before it runs. Before any page text goes to it, names and contact details are taken out, and Anthropic's terms don't let it train its models on that text. AI never changes a client's ads, sets budgets or bids, or works out numbers, and no AI writes our reports or our messages to you.
7.2Our own software, which we build and control, works with information that's mostly about businesses and ads: campaign data, search terms, costs and results, and public business details. For a sole trader, that can include personal information, such as a name or a business phone number.
7.3That software, not AI, can make some changes to a client's Google Ads by itself, chosen by us, such as blocking a search that brought clicks but no customers, or pausing ads when spending runs ahead of plan. It never takes spending above a client's monthly ad budget.
7.4The software helps us work out which trades and suburbs are worth ringing. Whether we take someone on, and what we charge, is decided by a person on our team, not by software, and our prices are the same published prices for everyone.
7.5If you want to know why a change was made, or want a person to look at it again, ask and we'll explain it in plain English.
08Keeping it safe
In short: On our server in Perth, with some copies on our own computers. Two-step sign-in, encrypted connections and a password manager.
8.1Client information is kept on our server in Perth, run by Binary Lane. Some copies, such as the monthly reports we send, may also be kept on our own computers.
8.2We protect it with:
- access limited to people working for QuestConnect, and the tools we use;
- two-step (multi-factor) sign-in on the accounts we use;
- encrypted connections; and
- a password manager.
We never ask for your Google password.
8.3No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach affects your information, we'll tell you as soon as we reasonably can: what happened, what was affected and what we're doing about it. If it's serious enough to be an eligible data breach under the Privacy Act, we'll also tell the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
09How long we keep it
In short: Only as long as we need it. Client details go within 60 days of you leaving, except your agreement and payment records, which we keep for 7 years.
9.1Clients. We keep your information while you're a client. Within 60 days of the agreement ending, we securely delete everything tied to your business. We keep your signed agreement, budget forms, invoices and payment records for 7 years, then delete them, and whatever we need to collect a fee still owed. General figures with nothing that identifies you are kept. If there's a dispute, we may keep what it needs until it's settled, and we'll tell you.
9.2Businesses we research and ring. We keep this only while it's useful for deciding whether to contact a business. If you ask us to delete it, we will, but we'll keep a note of your number or business name so we don't contact you again.
9.3People who contact us. We keep messages and notes while they're useful, then delete them.
9.4If you start signing up but don't go ahead. If you send us details from our sign-up pages but don't become a client, we delete them after 24 months with no contact. If you ask us not to contact you again, we keep only your name and your number or email address on our do-not-contact list, so we never do.
9.5Our sales reps. We keep their payment records for 7 years. The copy of their call notes kept with Twilio is deleted within 48 hours (2.4).
10Cookies and this website
In short: No advertising cookies. Google Analytics counts visits, and the services that deliver the site and the map see your IP address.
10.1This website doesn't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and doesn't follow you around other websites.
10.2We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: how many people visit, where they came from, which parts of the page they see, and whether they tap buttons like Ring, Text or Email, play the video, finish the quiz or check a suburb. It uses cookies to tell a new visit from a return visit. It never receives anything you type into the site.
10.3Google may use information from people signed in to their Google accounts to show us age and gender groups, only as totals. We can't see who you are.
10.4You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
10.5Our pages no longer have a light and dark colour switch. If you used it before, the choice your browser saved is deleted on your next visit. It was never sent to us.
10.6Our sign-up pages and our sales reps' portal save what you type in your own browser, so you can come back to it on the same device. It stays there until you send it or clear it. The rep portal also keeps a copy of reps' call notes with Twilio for up to 48 hours, until it's emailed to us (2.4). When the rep portal shows a business's website, the rep's browser fetches that site's small logo from Google.
10.7The site is hosted by Bunny.net, which sees your IP address and basic browser details so it can deliver the site to you. Cloudflare runs our domain name system, which points your browser to the site.
10.8When a map on our website loads (on the home page, and on Trade and area when you sign up), your browser fetches it from OpenFreeMap, which sees your IP address and the part of the map you're looking at.
10.9Clients who log in to our dashboard get the cookies needed to keep them signed in. They're not used for tracking or advertising.
10.10If we add any other tracking to this website, we'll update this policy first.
11Your rights
In short: Ask to see, fix or delete what we hold about you. It's free, and we'll reply within 30 days.
11.1You can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong, out of date or incomplete;
- delete it, except what the law makes us keep; or
- stop contacting you.
11.2Email Admin@QuestConnect.com.au or ring 0485 000 149. It's free, and we'll reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.
11.3If we can't do what you ask, we'll tell you why in writing.
11.4You don't have to give us your name to ask a general question, like what a lead costs in your trade. We'll need your details to do any work for you.
12Complaints
In short: Tell us first. If we don't put it right, you can go to the OAIC.
12.1If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email Admin@QuestConnect.com.au and tell us what happened. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days.
12.2If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

- oaic.gov.au
- Phone
- 1300 363 992
- Post

13Changes to this policy
In short: If we change something that matters, our clients hear about it by email first.
13.1We'll update this policy when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change matters, we'll email our clients before it takes effect.
